Where Worlds Meet

Some paths in life take an unconventional course...

Therapist, educational psychologist and founder of BECOME, Aline Populo began her career in fields where decisions shape the lives of people and the direction of institutions: media, international cooperation, strategic communications and representation on the world stage.

The first Black woman to appear on air on La Chaîne Parlementaire – Assemblée Nationale, she represented a Martinican institution at COP21 through COP26. Certified by the Centre de Formation et de Perfectionnement des Journalistes (CFPJ) and an international speaker, she spent years observing the forces that shape societies before turning her attention to those that shape us as human beings.

Her background brings together complementary disciplines, including educational psychology, behavioural patterns, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Transactional Analysis, neuroscience, communication and international relations.

This breadth of experience informs an open-minded approach, grounded in an understanding of situations in all their complexity and guided by a fundamental conviction: what we believe about ourselves, others and the world profoundly shapes how we live, love, lead and navigate life.

Based in Martinique, Aline Populo works in both French and English with individuals, families, professionals, leaders and organisations, alongside her work as a speaker, author and content producer.

Through BECOME, she draws on this experience to pursue one ambition: to make knowledge widely accessible so that more people can better understand human experience, develop sound judgement and make more informed choices.

What BECOME Does

BECOME explores human behaviour, seeking to understand what drives emotions, decisions and relationships by looking beneath their visible expressions.

Its work brings together emotional intelligence, relationship dynamics, identity formation, patterns passed down through families, and social and cultural influences.

BECOME recognises that our behaviour is often rooted in underlying mechanisms: beliefs, life experiences, emotional legacies, relationship patterns and the ways we see ourselves.

Bringing these to light helps us understand recurring patterns, identify what holds back personal growth and aknowledge what can change in lasting ways.

BECOME also offers practical tools for everyday life to help people turn understanding into action, respond more thoughtfully, make more informed choices and build healthier relationships.

BECOME addresses questions of self-esteem, feeling entitled to take one’s place, parenting, communication, personal and professional relationships, conflict, over-accommodation and exhaustion, alongside the individual and collective mechanisms that influence how we engage with the world.

BECOME’s ambition is to build a deeper understanding of human experience, enabling people to live, make decisions and relate to others with greater discernment, autonomy and freedom.

The BECOME Approach

The BECOME approach is grounded in a gradual process of integration that respects how the brain and body work, as well as each person’s own pace. It draws on a more accurate understanding of how people grow and make lasting changes to their patterns of thought, feeling and behaviour.

Through regular listening to the audio programmes, certain underlying patterns gradually begin to shift from within. The brain forms new associations, develops new frames of reference and opens up different ways of perceiving, interpreting and responding to situations.

These changes take hold gradually. Reactions shift, a steadier sense of self develops, and some decisions come more naturally. Behaviours that once felt automatic begin to feel less inevitable.

Because these changes respect the natural rhythms of life and the way human beings function, they tend to take deeper root over time and support a more lasting sense of inner stability.

One distinctive feature of the BECOME approach is that many of these changes begin to take shape in everyday life before we become fully aware of them. Often, it is only after several weeks or months that we realise how profoundly the way we think, relate to others or live our lives has changed.

BECOME does not seek to force change. Its ambition is to create the conditions for transformation to become so deeply integrated that it feels natural, helping each person develop greater emotional autonomy.

Some forms of growth emerge through more than pressure or willpower alone. They take shape gradually, until a different way of thinking, feeling and acting becomes the most natural response.
